FAIRBANKS, Alaska -

A fire official says a man was found dead inside a Fairbanks-area cabin that burned early Thursday.

Deputy Fire Chief Scott Learned of the Steese Volunteer Fire Department says the 12-by-16 foot wood-frame cabin was fully involved when firefighters arrived.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner said the man was not immediately identified pending notification of relatives. The cause of death has not yet been determined.

The cabin was destroyed. State fire marshals, Alaska State Troopers and the Steese Fire Department are investigating the cause of the blaze.
