More than six months after a deadly fire in Fairbanks, a grand jury has indicted a man for his alleged role in it.

The January fire destroyed the Geraghty Street building, killing two women who lived in apartments there.

Fairbanks police and fire officials found that 18-year-old Conar Groppel was involved in the fire. He faces several charges including murder, arson and criminal mischief.

Groppel was already in custody when he was indicted, and the court ordered that he be held without bail.

A trial date has not yet been set.
