Alaska State Troopers were in for a surprise Friday when a man walked into the Anchorage station and turned himself in for an outstanding warrant.

Michael Kost, 25, was charged in March 2013 of Sexual Assault of a Minor in the first degree. The charge was later dismissed in favor of the charge in the second degree.

Court proceedings were held in Nome, where the initial incident occurred.

"He turned himself in to be transported back to Nome for his jury trial that starts on the 17th," said trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen in an email Friday night.
