ANCHORAGE -

Police are asking for the public's help finding a man who allegedly shot and injured two people at a Saturday house party.

Gregory Fort, 22, is wanted on two counts of first-degree assault in connection with a Saturday shooting, according to a Monday statement from APD spokesperson Jennifer Castro.

Multiple people attending a party in a residence on the 2600 block of Easthaven Circle in midtown Anchorage told police the party started small and kept growing as the night wore on.

Police said people were drinking, some of whom were underage.

“When the host of the party asked Fort to leave, he became combative and called a friend,” Castro wrote in a release.

Fort allegedly pulled out a gun and shot in the direction of the crowd. A 20-year-old male and 19-year-old female were hit and transported to a hospital for treatment.

"Lots of people were drinking," Castro said. "When you lose your judgment from being impaired, firearms don't always create a good mix."

The duplex home is in a quiet neighborhood, which residents said is heavily populated by military families and students.

In addition to Fort, Castro said police are looking for a friend also at the party that police are calling a "person of interest."

Castro said Monday the shooting does not appear to have been gang-related.

Police are asking anyone with information on Fort’s whereabouts to call APD at 786-8900.
