A crash with at least one person injured is slowing traffic on the Parks Highway near the Chulitna River early Wednesday evening, with Alaska State Troopers at the scene.
AST spokesperson Megan Peters says the crash, at Mile 133 of the Highway, involved a Jeep; its model hasn’t initially been determined.
“We were notified of a wreck by a passing motorist at (4:49 p.m.),” Peters said.
Details from the crash site are still coming in, as troopers secure the area.
“It’s a single-vehicle wreck -- two people were in the car, one person was ejected,” Peters said. “The vehicle crashed at some point into a guardrail.”
While the extent of injuries in the crash wasn’t available, Peters says a LifeMed air ambulance was sent to the scene. There’s no word of road closures, but troopers ask drivers in the area to accommodate responders’ work.
“It’s safe to say traffic will be affected,” Peters said.
