Police have identified a man found dead in Chester Creek on Saturday.

In a release from the Anchorage Police Department, spokesperson Jennifer Castro said investigators have identified 39-year-old Thomas Evan as the man found “partially submerged” in the creek early last weekend.

Castro said the investigation has no revealed any signs of foul play.  

The body was discovered Saturday by a woman walking her dog in the area west of 19th Avenue and C Street.

Officers say there was no identification on Evan at the time his body was found. Police said witnesses who frequent the area had not seen him there the previous day.

Members from the Medical Examiner’s office responded to the scene and took custody of the Evan’s body. His family has been notified.
