ANCHORAGE -

Alaska State Troopers say a 35-year-old Russian Mission man has died in an apparent single-vehicle snowmachine crash.

Troopers say the body of Jeremy Wigley was found Wednesday morning on the Russian Mission Lake several hours after he had been drinking with his wife and friends.

Troopers say Wigley and his wife had been arguing and he reportedly forced her onto his snowmachine and sped off.

Troopers spokeswoman Beth Ipsen says the wife does not remember what happened next, but she showed up shoeless and hypothermic at a local's home at about 4:45 a.m.

A relative took the woman to the clinic then began searching for Wigley, whose body was found at about 7:30 a.m.

Troopers say neither Wigley nor his wife was reported to be wearing a helmet.
