A second suspect charged with murdering a Mountain View teenager in her home was formally charged Thursday.

Police say Precious Alex was shot through the window while inside her mother's basement apartment early Tuesday. She was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital later that morning.

On Wednesday Anchorage police arrested 28-year-old Lammar Burney and 24-year-old Jamal Townsend in connection with the girl's death.

Townsend was arraigned in court Thursday. Bail was set at $1.5 million, and requiring a third-party custodian. The judge cited his past record for the large bail.

Burney was formally charged yesterday and is being held on $1 million cash bail, with a third-party custodian required for release.

Both men are charged with one count each of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and second-degree assault.

In a 10-page criminal complaint against Burney and Townsend, police laid out a case citing a previous altercation at the Mountain View home as events leading to the shooting.
