Alaska State Troopers say a missing snowmachiner found dead during a search between Bethel and Atmautluak has been identified.

Troopers say a search was launched Tuesday for 65-year-old Wassilli Berlin, who was last seen Thursday. His body was found Tuesday.

Berlin was reported missing to local Village Public Safety Officers on Saturday. His snowmachine was found Sunday morning, about five miles outside of Atmautluak on a well-traveled trail, Troopers said. The search began Monday by locals in the community.

Troopers say no foul play is suspected. Berlin was dressed for cold conditions and found about a mile and a half away from the village near the Paingakmeut River, Trooper spokesperson Megan Peters wrote in a release Wednesday.

Troopers say the investigation continues.
