A Palmer family and local troopers are actively searching for a missing woman last seen Friday morning.
After receiving a call at 3:30 pm Friday, troopers began search efforts for 59-year-old Theresa Mayo, who was last seen around 11:45 am near the state fairgrounds. An initial search with k-9 units and MAT SAR turned up no evidence.
Mayo is believed to have been wearing a black down coat and a black knit hat. She is described as having brown hair, light brown eyes, and weighing 90 pounds.
“Troopers and her family are concerned about her safety, if she’s been outside, with these cold temperatures and elements,” said AST spokesman Tim Despain over the phone. “We’d like to find her as soon as possible, for her sake."
Troopers believe Mayo may still be in the general vicinity, but may also have received a ride elsewhere. Anyone with information concerning Mayo is asked to call troopers at (907) 352-5401.
