Two juveniles have been arrested and charged in connection with an Oct. 25 arson investigation at College Gate Elementary School.
The two male juveniles, one 13-year-old and one 14-year-old, were arrested Wednesday afternoon, according to police.
APD officials cite a school resource officer who was able to investigate and identify the two juveniles after receiving help from another student. Each juvenile was charged with one count of second-degree arson and third-degree criminal mischief.
The fire was reported by a passerby around 7:36 p.m., seeing the fire on the school playground. Anchorage Fire Department crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire. AFD officials estimate approximately $30,000 in damage were incurred as a result of the fire.
