Two women were sent to a Fairbanks hospital by a Monday head-on collision on the Parks Highway in Nenana, according to Alaska State Troopers.

In an AST dispatch Tuesday evening, troopers say they responded to the crash, involving drivers 32-year-old EdnaMae Stone of Healy and 44-year-old Jennifer Anderson of Anchorage, at Mile 299 of the highway just before 12:30 p.m. Stone had been headed north at the time of the crash.

“Stone attempted to pass another vehicle (in a blue 2012 Honda Civic) when she collided head-on with a 2000 silver Jeep Cherokee driven by (Anderson),” troopers wrote.

Troopers say Stone and Anderson were taken to Fairbanks Memorial Hospital with unknown injuries. Hospital staff say early Wednesday that Anderson was still being treated, but couldn’t release information on her condition; Stone was not listed as a patient.

An AST investigation of the collision is continuing.
