ANCHORAGE -

Several road races in downtown Anchorage and a Greek festival in South Anchorage may cause delays for motorists.

Anchorage Police will be conducting traffic on Sunday, August 17th, for the Skinny Raven half marathon.The following roads will be impacted between 5:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

  •  W. 6th Ave. between E St. and I St. will be CLOSED for the duration.
  •  H St. between 2nd Ave. and 6th Ave. will be CLOSED for the duration.
  •  F St. between 6th Ave. and 7th Ave. will be CLOSED for the duration.
  •  E St. between 4th Ave. and 9th Ave. will have lane restrictions.

The following downtown roads will impacted until approximately noon:

  • 8th Ave. will be closed between H St. and E St. until approximately noon.
  • I St. between 3rd Ave. and 5th Ave. will be CLOSED until approximately noon.
  • K St. between 3rd Ave. and 5th Ave. will be CLOSED until approximately noon.
  • 4th Ave. between E St. and L St. will be CLOSED until approximately noon.
  • 3rd Ave.  between G St. and L St. will be CLOSED until approximately noon.

APD will also be conducting traffic control at the annual Greek Festival this weekend.

Officers will be stopping traffic intermittently on O’Malley Road just east of Lake Otis to allow pedestrians to cross the street. Traffic Control will be conducted on Friday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday from noon to 8:00 p.m.
