A plane crash Thursday near the village of Nanwalek which all four people on board survived is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board.

Air safety investigator Chris Shaver says four people were on board the Cessna 206 which crashed into English Bay on takeoff about 100 feet from the shore.

Shaver says all of the plane’s occupants swam to safety.

The NTSB says the flight was operated by Smokey Bay Air, a Homer-based carrier which specializes in flight-seeing, fishing excursions, bear-viewing, and charter flights around Kachemak Bay.
