With the general election just a day away, officials in Fairbanks are working to clear up any remaining confusion over new election districts.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner says the new election map is the product of redistricting mandated every 10 years after the census is taken. The new election map came about after numerous legal challenges and revisions, which the Division of Elections supervisor for Region 111 says produced some confusion for voters as well as for the division.

Mickey Speegle says many of the problems were taken care of in the primary election, but a few remain. On Saturday it was discovered some voters on the border between two voting precincts they had been paired with the wrong precinct and were assigned to the wrong polling place.
