ANCHORAGE, Alaska—
The owner of a downtown Anchorage bar where a patron was allegedly handcuffed and beaten has agreed to sell his liquor license, but some local Assembly members are opposed.
Rumrunner's owner Basilio Gallo wants to sell his liquor license for Rumrunner's Old Towne Bar & Grill and lease the bar to a T.G.I Friday's franchisee.
However, the Anchorage Daily News reports that some members of the Anchorage Assembly are planning to block the deal. They maintain that Rumrunner's has created too many problems in the Downtown area and want him to lose his license outright.
