JUNEAU, Alaska—On Tuesday, Alaska State Troopers helped rescue two separate hikers from Florida and British Columbia near Juneau.
AST said 27-year-old Kristen Walling, of Florida, requested assistance after reportedly falling and breaking her leg while hiking near the West Glacier Trail.
50-year-old Scott Frymire, of British Columbia, was on the trail and requested help after getting lost. AST directed Frymire back on the trail via cellphone and he reported no injuries.

Text: AST received a report of a 27 year female who reported that she had f
allen and broken her leg while hiking near the West Glacier Trail and was r
equesting assistance. AST with the assistance of AWT and the Capital City F
ire and Rescue responded to the area and contacted the victim. After the in
itial assessment it was determined that the rescue would require the use of
a Temsco Helicopter to safely extract the victim and transport her to the
parking lot. Simultaneously a 50 year old hiker on the trail self reported
that they were lost. AST contacted the hiker via cellular phone and were ab
le to direct him back to the trail were he arrived at the parking lot at th
e same time as the helicopter rescuing the injured hiker. The injured hiker
, Kristen Walling of Florida, was transported by EMS to the hospital. The l
ost hiker, Scott Frymire of British Columbia, reported no injuries.
