And it's at that picnic that she'll not only hand out hot dogs, but she'll also say goodbye and hand over the reins of state government to Lt. Gov. Sean Parnell.
In less than 24 hours, Palin will be free of her responsibilities as Alaska's top official leader.
It is still not clear exactly what Palin has planned for the future. But many plan to be in Fairbanks to watch her say farewell at Pioneer Park.

What was once a simple annual event is now anything but simple.
"This is my 23rd season here -- I've seen some big events -- I think this will be the biggest," said Allan Shaw, Pioneer Park Supervisor.
Palin's announcement to leave Alaska's highest office a year-and-a-half early is attracting visitors from across the world.
Six thousand people are expected to fill the park to witness the change of power on Sunday.
Pioneer Park shops are taking advantage of the historical moment that will take place in their own back yard.
"We're setting up our snack bar to help feed all the thousands of people," said Kathryn Wuitschick with Indian Valley Meats.

"I'm kind of like my bumper sticker, Whatcha' doin' Sarah?' -- we don't know what she's doing," said Wuitschick.
But the support for Palin still exists.
"I think she's setting herself up to go somewhere else," said Bob Gibson with Santa's Candles and Gifts. "I think she's looking for the big picture, and I hope she does."
"It's a history-making thing," said Wuitschick.
It's a historical moment that is setting the stage for what's to come.
Parnell will take his oath of office on Sunday. Parking will be limited, but there will be a shuttle service from the Carlson Center to Pioneer Park.
