JUNEAU, Alaska—
U.S. Sen. Lisa Murkowski says she was a "bit surprised" Sarah Palin endorsed her opponent in the Republican primary, given Palin's past support for her. But Murkowski says there are no hard feelings.
Murkowski says Alaska is a small state when it comes to politics, and believes much of Palin's stated support for Joe Miller has to do with the personal relationship between the Palin and Miller families.
Last year, Palin pledged to raise money for Murkowski and donated funds through her political action committee to Murkowski's campaign.
Murkowski says Palin's endorsement of Miller had nothing to do with any bad blood between the women. Palin's maintained as much, too, though the two do share a complicated history.
