In "America by Heart: Reflections on Family, Faith and Flag," Palin criticizes President Kennedy for running away from his faith.
She points out a quote during a campaign speech when Kennedy said, "I am not the Catholic candidate for president. I am the Democratic Party's candidate for president, who happens to be Catholic."
Palin criticizes the current president as well, accusing President Obama of dismissing American "exceptionalism" and a "kind of irrational prejudice in favor of our way of life."
Palin also lambasts the t.v. show "American Idol" but praises former judge Simon Cowell, saying he is "almost alone in his willingness to tell hard truths."
In Phoenix, people began standing in line at 1 a.m. for a chance to meet Palin. The former Alaska
governor began her national book tour there Tuesday.
