Alaska State Troopers have arrested two juveniles suspected of threatening a construction worker in the northwest village of Stebbins.

Spokeswoman Megan Peters says the youths were charged Friday with assault, vehicle theft, criminal mischief and reckless driving. One also faces a harassment charge.

They were transported to the youth correctional facility in Nome.

Managers of STG Inc. pulled workers out of Stebbins this week and said village youths had menaced them.

The company says the juveniles stole company four-wheelers, drove them into fences and threatened a foreman.

The company is wrapping up work on new petroleum storage facilities that will be used by Stebbins and nearby St. Michael.

The Stebbins city administrator says she expects construction workers to return Monday after the community pledged to protect them.
