A man who said he intended to sell heroin to pay back money he owed his grandmother faces robbery and drug charges.

Jason Obryan faces a six-count indictment in Fairbanks along with co-defendant James N. Cook.

The Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reports a woman told police Obryan robbed her of $500 in a parking lot on Jan. 30.

Police interviewing Cook learned that he drove Obryan to the parking lot.

He said he briefly left the vehicle, and when he returned, Obryan ran toward him, told him he had just committed a robbery and urged him to drive away quickly.

When interviewed by state troopers, Obryan said he went to the parking lot to get some heroin he was going to sell to pay back money he owed his grandmother.
