A lobbyist who was injured in the Alaska plane crash that killed former U.S. Sen. Ted Stevens and four others is returning home to Washington, D.C.
A spokesman says 54-year-old Jim Morhard will arrive by air ambulance at Washington Dulles International Airport on Saturday night. He is being transferred to a rehabilitation hospital in Washington.
In a statement, Morhard's family says they continue to grieve the loss of friends and colleagues who died in the Aug. 9 crash. The family says Morhard is "making great strides," and they are looking forward to his full recovery.
Three other survivors are former NASA head Sean O'Keefe, his son, Kevin O'Keefe, and 13-year-old Willy Phillips Jr.
The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the crash.
