Fatal ATV crash victim identified (September 4, 2012) |
Alaska State Troopers responded to a fatal all-terrain vehicle crash in the Mat-Su Valley Monday afternoon.
AST spokesperson Megan Peters says the crash happened near Mile 100 of the Glenn Highway.
61-year old William Beaty was found dead about 1.8 miles from a trailhead, near Hicks Creek. Police do not know what what Beaty was doing in the area or how the wreck happened.
According to Peters, first responders took some time to reach the crash site because they had to drive to the trailhead, then take ATVs to the scene.
Alaska State Troopers say Beaty's next of kin have been notified.
