Troopers Respond to Pickup Truck Crash (Joseph Abruska / March 19, 2013) |
A pickup truck crash killed a Wasilla man Tuesday evening near Settlers Bay Drive in Wasilla, according to Alaska State Troopers.
Troopers said 30-year-old Matthew Bernard Delong lost control of his 2010 white Ford pickup truck east bound near .4 Mile on Settlers Bay Drive around 6:35 p.m. Tuesday. His vehicle went over the guardrail on the northside and came to rest on its roof in the tree line.
Troopers said Delong was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash, however he "succumbed to his injuries sustained in the collision and was pronounced deceased on scene."
Delong's truck was the only vehicle involved in the crash and troopers notified his family.
Editor's Note: Clarfies information from troopers that the crash happened on Settlers Bay Drive, instead of road.
