A Wasilla man was severely injured in a single-vehicle rollover on the Parks Highway early Tuesday morning, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers from the Bureau of Highway Patrol responded at 12:49 a.m. to Mile 50.5 of the Parks, where a 1999 Mercedes sedan driven by 47-year-old Kenneth E. Baker had been headed south at a high rate of speed.

“Baker failed to negotiate a left hand corner, went off the roadway, rolled over several times and was ejected from the vehicle,” troopers wrote in a Tuesday dispatch.

Baker, who was not wearing his seat belt, was flown by Lifemed helicopter to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. His vehicle was totaled in the crash.

Troopers are investigating the incident and have notified Baker’s next of kin.
