Today, students at Boones Mill Elementary School honored vets in a unique way. They sang songs that exemplify patriotism at its fines including “The Star Spangled Banner” and “God Bless the USA.”
We asked Sgt. Major Jessie Jones, a United States Marine Corps Veteran, to comment about the emotion he felt. . “When they were singing those songs <YES!> what did you feel? Oh ‘I'm proud to be an American’ that really--that really gets at ya when you've been in service,” he said.
The students also took part in a mock boot camp.
