CAMPBELL COUNTY, Va.—
A Brookneal woman was killed Thursday after being hit by a car on Route 501 in Campbell County.According to Virginia State Police, 83-year-old Nancy Shorter stepped into the road, about a tenth of a mile north of Route 40. Shorter was hit by a Chevrolet Cavalier around 8:20 p.m.
Shorter was not in a designated crosswalk.
She died on the way to the hospital.
