A new brush fire has started in US Forest Service territority Monday evening.
This fire was reported at about 7:00pm Monday. The "Rich Hole" fire has burned 100 acres at the top of North Mountain.
The fire is visible from Route 64, near the Goshen exit. Virginia State Police are asking drivers to be careful in that area, as the smoke is causing poor visibility.
This fire is at zero containment, along with several other fires burning in Alleghany County this evening. The US Forest Service says it has no estimated times for containment right now.The cause of this fire is under investigation.
