A man accused of sexually assaulting children in the Blacksburg Public Library and a grocery store was found guilty on two counts of sexual battery Tuesday.
Danny Dillow, 47, appeared in Montgomery County Circuit Court Tuesday. He faces up to 40 years in prison.
The Blacksburg Public Library incident happened on April 21, 2012 and involved an 11-year-old girl. The second incident happened on June 2, 2012 at the Kroger on South Main Street and involved a 7-year-old girl. Three other charges were dropped because the victim in those cases was not available to testify.
Dillow was caught on library surveillance video and admitted visiting the library in an interview. Video also showed him entering the Kroger.
He was already a registered sex offender at the time of the offenses and was not allowed to have contact with children or to visit the library.
Dillow will remain in jail until his May 7 sentencing. According to the Commonwealth Attorney’s office, the Commonwealth and the defense do not have an agreement on an appropriate sentence.
