A man charged with murder in connection to a double homicide in Pittsylvania County last summer will spend 17 years in prison.

Jerry Gwynn, Jr. was sentenced today by a Pittsylvania County Curcuit Court jury this afternoon.

He was acquitted of a murder charge but found guilty of burglary and using a gun with force during the burglary.

Last August police arrested Gwynn and another man after their car was seen leaving a house in a rural section of Pittsylvania County near Danville.

Police say Gwynn broke into the home intending to steal drugs.

Two men were later found dead inside the house.
