The STEM Expo is scheduled for Thursday, March 7th from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm located at 303 Norfolk Ave. SW, Roanoke.
The event is free and open to the public.
Students from Virginia Tech's Joseph F. Ware Advanced Engineering Lab will demonstrate several inventions, including the vehicle developed by the Hybrid Electric Vehicle Team, autonomous aerial and underwater vehicles, the Formula SAE car, a human powered submarine, a battery operated land transport, and a model steel bridge.
The Science Museum of Western Virginia will exhibit several of their hands-on demonstrations and the Virginia Museum of Transportation will allow participants to explore the museum at no cost.
The Expo also features exhibits from the Virginia Tech Catawba Sustainability Center illustrating faculty and student research.
The event is designed to connect students with scientists and engineers with the intent of sparking their interest toward pursuing careers in the area of science, technology, mathematics and engineering.
