THROGS NECK, N.Y. (WPIX)—A 30-year-old man from the Bronx is in police custody for allegedly sending inappropriate photos of himself to an 11-year-old girl who vanished Tuesday morning, according to New York City police.
Sahara Boyd was last spotted leaving her Throgs Neck home around 7:45 a.m. en route to P.S. 72, located just a few blocks away. However, when Boyd failed to return home from school that same day her family called police.
The pair apparently met when Boyd lived with a foster mother last year.
It's unclear why McKelvin wasn't arrested until Tuesday. So far, officials have not labeled him a suspect in Boyd's disappearance.
McKelvin has been charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child under the age of 17.
Anyone with information regarding McKelvin's whereabouts is urged to contact New York City police.
