YORK COUNTY—Prices may be high at the pump for you, so think about county's like York County that have to fill up over 200 hundred cars. With unrest in the Middle East, county administrators said their budget will suffer because of gas prices. Over 200 county cars and over a hundred other pieces of machinery like park lawn mowers are eating up taxpayer money set aside by the county.
Administrators said every department will have to tighten their belts.
"They have to, in order to stay within budget, have to pull dollars from some other line items to be able to fund their fuel costs," said York County Administrator, Chuck Noll.
"It only does so much, you`re still gonna feel that pain," said York County Fleet Manager Gary Glatfelter.
Right now the county is not sure how much money they will have to come out of pocket until they see some stability is gas prices.
