McDonald's demolished in preparation for rebuilding project

An excavator moves debris Wednesday at the site of Petoskey's McDonald's restaurant on U.S. 31 North, where the main restaurant building had been demolished earlier in the day. McDonald's Corp. and DMR Restaurants, the franchised operator of the fast-food chain's Petoskey location, plan to rebuild the restaurant using a more contemporary design and have it ready to open by mid-fall.
