Low water levels and deposits of silt from the Jordan River have necessitated expensive dredging and limited access to the East Jordan municipal harbor in recent years. The city is now moving forward with engineering work to begin the process of constructing a silt diversion wall between the Jordan River and Lake Charlevoix to prevent additional sediment deposition.
