Jones, the first true star of the Montreal Expos, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2004, after a battle with stomach cancer. He was 65. Nicknamed Mack the Knife, Jones played in the majors from 1961 to 1971. He ended his career in Montreal after playing with the Milwaukee Braves, the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds. |
