The Sydney Kings defeated Drake University 95-62 this past Friday in an exhibition basketball game in Sydney, Australia.
Former Northern State men's basketball standout Kevin Ratzsch recorded six points and eight rebounds in 23 minutes of action for the Kings, who compete in the Australia-based National Basketball League. The NBL is considered one of the top leagues in the world.
It was Ratzsch's first game with the Kings and he arrived in Australia just one day prior to the game. The Kings' next preseason game will be against archrival Wollongong next Sunday.

Dakota Open is this weekend

Begeman claims first
senior championship
Tim Begeman of Madison won his first SDGA senior championship on Sunday at Bakker Crossing Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
Begeman, who led by four strokes after Saturday's first round 68, finished the 36-hole championship at 4-over 146 to win by one stroke over Steve Pelzl of Aberdeen and Steve Dietrich of Sioux Falls.

Aberdonian records fifth ace
Jim Busch of Aberdeen recorded a hole-in-one on Sunday, which is the fifth of this career.
Busch made the ace at Lee Park Golf Course. The hole-in-one happened on the par-3, 155 yard, No. 15 hole. Busch used a 21-degree rescue club and the ace was witnessed by Larry Hendrickson.
Webb wins Wyndham
Webb Simpson won the Wyndham Championship for his first PGA Tour title, finishing with a bogey-free 3-under 67 on Sunday for a three-stroke victory.
The Raleigh native and former Wake Forest standout had an 18-under 262 total at Sedgefield Country Club.
George McNeill (64) was second, and Tommy Gainey (69) was third at 14 under in the final event before the PGA Tour playoffs.
