1987 -- Ipswich's Shelly Gisi set a new record in the Class A 1,600-meter run and ran on a pair of record-setting relay teams to earn Athlete of the Meet honors at the Watoma Relays in Watertown. Gisi clipped more than two seconds off the 1,600-meter record with a time of five minutes, 28.38 seconds.
1992 -- Amy Von Wald won the 200- and 400-meter dashes and ran the anchor leg on Northern State's winning 400- and 800-meter relay teams at the Al Cassell Invitational track and field meet in Jamestown, N.D.
1997 -- John Cowan of Aberdeen recorded the first hole-in-one of the golf season at Lee Park. Cowan used a seven-iron to ace the par-three, 155-yard eighth hole.
2002 -- A.J. Pierzynski hit a game-tying single with one out in the ninth inning and pinch-hitter Doug Mientkiewicz followed with a two-run double as the Minnesota Twins scored five times in the ninth and rallied to a 6-2 win over the Tampa Bay Devil Rays.
2007 -- Northern State's baseball team won both ends of doubleheader with Minnesota-Crookston. Mitch Locke belted a two-run single during a five-run sixth that carried NSU to a 9-4 win in the opener. Tyler Oliver and Adam Kampsen combined to pitch a six-hitter as Northern took the second game 9-2.
2011 -- Kelli Bornander scattered six hits and struck out six to lead Northern State to a 3-0 victory over Bemidji State in the second game of a college softball doubleheader. The Beavers won the opening game, 3-2.
