Some interesting things came out of South Dakota State’s doubleheader sweep of Southern Utah (men 66-56, women 65-43) in the 40th annual Pork Classic at Frost Arena in Brookings Saturday night:

¿
The women Jacks extended and ended their consecutive made free throw streak at 27 — the streak was over the course of three games.

¿ The SDSU men had a key a six-point possession in the second half. Trailing 38-36 with 12:31 left, lone senior Griffan Callahan got fouled after making athree-point basket. That gave the Jacks the ball again and Nate Wolters made a three-point play to put SDSU on top 42-38 with 11:51 left. Wolters was named The Summit League player of the week.

¿
In the all-time SDSU men’s scoring chart, Wolters moved from 12th to nine as the junior is now at 1,418 points. Next up is the junior’s former teammate Kai Williams, No. 8 on the list with 1,423 points from 2006-10.

No. 1 on the list is former Hamlin star Mark Tetzlaff, who scored 1,931 points for the Jacks from 1982-85. Mark is the dad of current NSU standout Dustin Tetzlaff. In only two seasons at NSU, Dustin has scored 600 (300 last season, and 300 so far this season). He scored 22 in his freshman season at the University of South Dakota.
