Bemidji State rallied for a slim win over Upper Iowa in a game played at Bemidji, Minn.
The Beavers scored the game winning touchdown on a five-yard pass from Lance Rongstad to Brent Kondziolka with 40 seconds left in the game. The extra point kick failed. Upper Iowa scored two touchdowns and kicked a 35-yard field goal in the fourth quarter to build a 23-19 lead with 2 minutes 28 seconds left in the game. The Beavers used 13 plays to travel 75 yards for the winning score.
Rongstad completed 24-38 passes for 228 yards and fourth touchdowns for Bemidji. Upper Iowa was led by Raymond Bradley who carried the ball 17 times for 128 yards.
