The University of South Dakota will honor Pierre junior Conrad Adam with his own night when the Coyotes host Fort Wayne in a men’s basketball game at 7 p.m. Saturday at the DakotaDome in Vermillion.

Adam, a 6-foot-5 former standout on the Pierre basketball team, is fighting osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. He underwent surgery in October that required the amputation of his left leg above the knee.

The Adam family has strong ties to USD as his sister, Katherine, is a freshman there and his parents, Karl and Joan Adam of Pierre, are USD graduates. Various fund-raisers are planned during the night for the family as well.
