The Alaska Aces defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers 5-2 Saturday night at the Sullivan Arena.
Alaska came out firing in the first, starting with a tally from Shawn Skelly at 1:58 into the period. While Las Vegas would answer shortly after, 3 more Aces scores from David Eddy, Brendan Connolly and Ross Ring-Jarvi would put Alaska up 4-1 going into the first intermission.
In the second, BJ Crum netted a power play goal at 9:09 off the pass from Connolly. The Wranglers would also manage to score, to cut Alaska's lead to 5-2 at the end of 2.
A scoreless 3rd would give Alaska the 5-2 victory.
The two teams face off again Sunday, 3pm at the Sullivan Arena.
