The Alaska Aces are bringing back a couple more familiar faces to defend the Kelly Cup during the 2014-15 season.  Thursday the team signed veteran forward Brendan Connolly and free agent center Tim Coffman to the team's roster.

In a press release from the Aces organization coach Rob Murray spoke glowingly of the role Connolly plays saying "our dressing room looks toward him for leadership, he takes his game to the next level in clutch situations and provides a tremendous blend of elite level skill and hard-nosed approach.  Those are key ingredients that make him a fan favorite and we're extremely excited for his return this season."  Statistically Connolly finished the regular season with 49 points in 51 games, scoring 22 goals contributing 27 assists.  Connolly bringing that same level of play to the post season where he was second on the team in scoring with 19 points (3g-16a) in 19 games.

Tim Coffman had a strong showing with the Aces during the first half of the 2013-14 season.  Coffman played in 35 regular season contests for Alaska where he racked up 22 points (9g-13a) and while he did not end the season in a Aces sweater he did make an impression.  Coach Rob Murray is excited to have Coffman back and he believes big things are in store for the center "Tim's skill set has him on track for a potential breakout year" said Murray.

The Aces begin preseason play Tuesday, October 7th with a pair of games against the Indy Fuel.
