The UAA women's basketball team defeated Western Oregon for the 18th straight time on Thursday, while the Seawolf men couldn't snap Western Washington's GNAC record streak despite a halftime lead.
The Seawolf women received double figure scoring from four players, led by Alysa Horn's 17 points in a 63-54 win at Western Oregon. UAA improves to 3-5 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. The Seawolves led 14-2 early and forced 18 Wolves turnovers.
In the UAA men's game, the Seawolves led 2nd-ranked and defending Division II national champion Western Washington, 32-25 at halftime as the Vikings missed their first 10 shots from three point range. However, Western Washington rallied by outscoring UAA 50-30 in the second half of a 75-62 victory to extend their winning streak to 23 dating back to last season.
Liam Gibcus scored 13 points to lead the Seawolves, who drop to 4-4 in the GNAC.
