The UAA women's basketball team has been picked to finish 5th in the 2012-13 Great Northwest Athletic Conference, according to the 12th annual GNAC coaches' poll.
UAA finished last season 30-5, claiming the regular and post-season GNAC titles, and an NCAA Elite Eight berth. Seniors Alyssa Horn and Sasha King also landed spots on the pre-season All-GNAC Team.
Picked to win the league is last year's runner-up Western Washington, with 7 of 10 first-place votes. Simon Fraser landed the 2 spot, followed by Seattle Pacific (3) and Montana State Billings (4).
UAA women's hoops starts up November 4th with an exhibition game at Arizona State. The women return home for their season opener November 9th, hosting the Colorado School of Mines.
