Three members of the UAA women's basketball team have received postseason honors from the Great Northwest Athletic Conference. Guard Jessica Madison earns the conference Freshman of the Year award, while forward Alysa Horn and point guard Sasha King make second team all-GNAC distinction in a vote by league coaches.
Madison averaged 9.7 points per game for the Seawolves, who have won seven straight games entering the conference tournament opener against Northwest Nazarene on Wednesday. She also started 17 of 26 games and shot 83% from the free throw line.
Horn, a senior from Kodiak, Alaska, finished second in the conference in rebounding at 9.1 boards per game. She also ranked sixth with a 15.2 points per game average while leading the league in minutes played.
King, also a senior, averaged 5.9 assists per game to finish second in the GNAC, while leading UAA with 15.5 points per game. She also led the conference in steals, with 3.0 per game.
