Seawolf freshman Brad Duwe scored his second game winning goal of the series with 2:45 remaining in regulation to lift the UAA hockey team over rival UAF, 5-4 in the decisive third game of the teams' first round WCHA playoff series on Saturday night in Fairbanks.

UAA advances to the WCHA Final Five to take on top seed Ferris State next Friday.

Duwe's goal capped a thrilling final frame.  UAA led, 3-1 after two periods on goals by Jordan Kwas, Matt Bailey, and Scott Allen.  The Nanooks began their comeback in the third, scoring three times in a span of 9 minutes, 43 seconds.  Alec Hajdukovich buried a pair of goals in the final frame, the second of which knotted the game up at 4 with 5:13 to go.

But UAA wasn't done.  Blake Tatchell fed Duwe for the game winner to set off a UAA celebration that peaked at the final buzzer.  Rob Gunderson started all three games of the playoff series in net, wining the final two.  Gunderson made 24 saves in game three.

UAA will play in the WCHA Final Five for the third time in program history.
