East defeated Dimond for the seventh straight time, and the 10th time in the last 11 meetings overall, 21-0, on a rain-soaked Thursday night at Anchorage Football Stadium. The victory was essential for the T-Birds, who improve to 1 and 2 in the Cook Inlet Conference and 2 and 2 overall. The Lynx drop to 2 and 1 in league play, and also 2 and 2 overall.
East rushed for 237 yards as a team, including 123 by Jakeil Bell, whose 61 yard touchdown on the first play from scrimmage in the second half opened the game up and gave East a 21-0 cushion. Diego Su'a Te'o and Osa Atiifale also scored rushing touchdowns for the T-Birds.
Defensively, East allowed Dimond only five first downs all evening and forced four turnovers.
