ANCHORAGE, Alaska —
The Alaska Aces scored three times in the final 2:18 of regulation to knock off the Utah Grizzlies, 5-2 in Wednesday night ECHL action. The win gives Alaska a league best record of 38-11-6.
Many of those wins have come at Utah's expense. The Aces finish their regular season head to head series with the Grizzlies 10-3-1, including a near spotless 7-0-1 mark in Utah.
Nick Mazzolini scored his 30th goal of the season for the Aces, but the real fireworks came late in the game. Mike Baran notched the game-winner, his second of the season, at 17:42 of the third, and his tally was followed only 19 seconds later by Garry Nunn's 15th of the season. Bobby Hughes added an empty net goal to complete the rally.
